Our Wonderful Fundraisers!!
So many people have been so generous, particularly in Sarah’s memory, that it is hard to know where to start in thanking people! People have run marathons, done triathlons, donated wedding gifts, dyed their hair blonde and donated their hard-earned pounds to our cause, for which we will be eternally grateful.
Here are some pictures and details of just a few of the most recent generous people, who we as an organization and as Sarah’s friends would like to thank on behalf on the children we work with and on Pam, Sarah’s mother’s, behalf, who has been overwhelmed by the support extended to Puentes in her daughter’s memory.

On 26th April 2009 Claire, Maddie, Ollie and Tom all ran the London Marathon in Sarah’s memory, raising an astounding £5,847 for Puentes! Thank you to you all! Quite an incredible feat!
Hong Kong Fundraiser
A fantastic HK$12,000 was raised on 31st May, 2008 to raise money for Puentes in honour of Sarah Howard. A huge thanks to Culture Club for providing the venue, Brigitte for providing the salsa band, Sophie, Stephen and Dodi for providing the lucky draw prizes and Hari, Amanda and Angela for their amazing help and support organising the night. And of course, thanks to everyone who attended and donated their hard earned cash.
Another thanks to British Council Hong Kong staff (Rachael and Angel) who donated their laptops to Puentes children, and to the Consulate General of Peru in Hong Kong who organised delivery. Much appreciated!

On 21st June 2009 John Ryan completed the Liverpool Sprint Triathlon (the water in the Albert Dock looked freezing!), in memory of Sarah – raising £180 so far!
On 5th June 2009 160 people boarded The Golden Flame for a cruise up the Thames, raising £1,200 for Puentes! Many thanks to Laura and Lorna for all their efforts organizing this very successful event!!
Sports and Art
LimaKids, a sister organization of Puentes, aims to bring sports and art to the same at-risk children we work with and sometimes ask for help with funding particular events.
Lima Trip
On a recent trip to Lima, Peru, the Treasurer visited all the homes that Puentes funds projects for and met with the Adminstrators and Co-ordinators to oversee how donations are being spent.
Fundraising in Malaysia
A huge thanks goes to the staff and the students of the Middle School Spanish Department of the International School of Kuala Lumpur. In March 2011, a fundraiser was held, selling homebaking, made by the students and their parents, and crafts, which had been bought in Peru and shipped to Malaysia for the sale. The Middle School managed to raise MYR2500 (approx US$825) at the event and all proceeds will go directly to Puentes. A special thank you to Miss Fox, who organised delivery of the crafts and dressed up in a poncho, all in the name of Puentes!
